LANDSCAPE OF DATA
UABB Shen Zhen
Technology has warped our world’s landscapes. We can leverage this warped reality to bring us closer to each other, even if we are far apart. The installation illustrates how the layers of data landscapes allow for a different engagement for citizens with their food, how their food is made, the communities it is made within, the networks that bring their food, and the communities of people that work to provide these food sources. We literally break the layered landscapes into extruded plates and allow visitors to engage with the plants, buildings and community on different levels and from different perspectives. We project the data harvested from the real world landscape back upon the installed landscape components. This depicts to the viewer the reality of this extra layer that can be ‘seen’ with these new lenses.
